Experience
With over 20 years of experience in writing, editing and communications - and more than a decade as a research assistant and communications officer in an academic setting - I bring both precision and empathy to every project.
My expertise spans education and the social sciences, with a particular focus on early childhood education, vocational education and training, social justice, and communication and media. I'm also experienced in editing work by authors with English as a second or additional language.
I've worked with a range of academic publishers and am confident navigating style guides and referencing formats. I especially enjoy making complex research clear and accessible for broad audiences.
I can assist with:
Scholarly books and book chapters
Journal articles and conference papers
Academic theses
Research reports and funding proposals
Fact sheets and presentations
Marketing materials, resumes and job applications
IPEd membership
I am a Professional Member of the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) in Australia.
Qualifications
I have completed both a business degree and a Certificate IV in Professional Writing and Editing. I also regularly undertake professional development.
